    Upload Word file

Drop or choose a .docx, .docm, .dotx, or .dotm file. Legacy .doc must be saved as DOCX first.

    Extract images

We read the ZIP archive inside the document and list every file under word/media/.

  3. 3

    Preview & select

Thumbnails appear in the scroll-safe panel. EMF/WMF may not preview online but still download.

Tips

Tips for Getting Images Out of DOCX Files

Save .doc as .docx

Binary .doc files are not supported. Use Save As → Word Document (.docx) in Word or LibreOffice.

EMF/WMF offline

Vector metafiles often cannot preview in the browser. Download ZIP and open them in Word on Windows.

Select all, then trim

On image-heavy templates, start with Select all and deselect tiny icons before ZIP download.

Check file size

Very large DOCX files with hundreds of images may take longer to parse — wait for the progress bar to finish.

FAQ

Extracting Images from Word — FAQ

How do I batch-export images from a Word document?

Upload your .docx file at the top of this page. We extract every image under word/media/, show thumbnails, and let you download a ZIP of your selection.

What is Bulk Image Extract from Word?

It means reading the embedded media folder inside a DOCX archive (Office Open XML) and exporting those files without manually right-clicking each picture in Word.

Which Word formats are supported?

DOCX, DOCM, DOTX, and DOTM. Older binary .doc files must be converted to DOCX first.

Why can’t I preview some images?

EMF and WMF metafiles are common in Word but browsers cannot render them. They are still included in the ZIP for viewing in Word or Windows tools.

Is my document uploaded to your server?

No. Parsing happens in your browser. We do not receive or store your Word file.

Can I extract images from a password-protected DOCX?

Password-protected files cannot be opened as ZIP archives. Remove protection in Word, save, then upload again.
